Luminary Ministry
The St. Paul Luminary Ministry was formed in 2009 as a way to promote adult faith formation by offering activities and discussions. Our initial activity was a pilgrimage to the Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe in LaCrosse, WI in September of 2009.
Past Event
The Milwaukee Public Museum's Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible exhibit on May 5, 2010
Parish adults and students are invited to join our Luminary Ministry for a car-and-van caravan trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum on Wednesday, May 5th. We will gather in our church parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and leave for Miwaukee at 8:15 a.m. The cost for adults is $22 while the cost for students and seniors is $20.
What are the Dead Sea Scrolls and what's the exhibit all about? The Scrolls are manuscripts that tell about a profound search for religious truth 2,000 years in the making. At the museum, we can witness actual 2,000-year-old scrolls and other early biblical artifacts to learn how transmission of these early writings has shaped Jewish, Christian, and Islamic beliefs. The largest temporary exhibit ever produced by the Milwaukee Public Museam, Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible explores the archaeological history of the Holy Land during the period the Scrolls were written, from the third century BCE through Jesus' time. The exhibit also tracks the discovery of the first Scrolls and subsequent realization of their extraordinary significance.
Registration for our Luminary Ministry Milwaukee trip will begin the weekend after Easter.

Funeral Litugry and
Funeral Arrangements Planning Session
On Sunday, April 25, 2010, our Luminary Ministry sponsored a
Funeral Litugry Planning and Funeral Arrangement Planning session.
Deacon Bob provided a presentation on Catholic Funeral liturgies.

Guest speaker, funeral director Jeff Stahl of Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home
provided information on funeral planning, preplanning, and funeral trusts.

Parish Pastoral Council member, Martin Pionke was asked to speak on the importance of informing parishioners of St. Paul Parish to remember our parish in our wills. Martin stated, "St. Paul Parish has been there for us for our baptisms, first communions, confirmations, religious education, weddings, funerals for our loved ones, etc. How wonderful it would be if we could all remember our parish in our wills by contributing to our St. Paul Forever Foundation!"
